Understanding Conductive Education

Origins & Development

Conductive Education was developed in Hungary by Dr Andras Pető. It focuses on the body-mind connection and takes a structured approach to optimal learning and independence. CE develops movement, function, and personality simultaneously, encouraging problem-solving and a positive self-image.

A Holistic Approach

Conductive Education takes a holistic approach, addressing physical development, learning, communication, confidence and independence together. It is designed to help individuals develop the skills they need to lead as independent and fulfilling a life as possible.

CE is not delivered in isolation — it brings together education, movement and daily life skills in every session, so that progress in one area supports progress in all others.

Who Can Benefit?

Conductive Education can benefit anyone with a neurologically-based movement problem. The most common conditions are Cerebral Palsy, Acquired Brain Injury, and post-stroke recovery.
